Summer Wedding at Agape 1928 in San Clemente

Wedding

There are some weddings that just feel like sunshine from start to finish—Kristine and Ulysses’ wedding at Agape 1928 in San Clemente was one of those. Even though we were deep into one of California’s hottest summers, the vibe was nothing short of magical. These two kept everything in perspective: at the end of the day, they were marrying each other, and nothing else mattered! (And let me tell you, that kind of energy is contagious!)

As an Orange County wedding photographer, I get the unique privilege of capturing those real, heartfelt moments, and believe me, this wedding was filled with them! Let’s dive into the details of their beautiful day.

Getting Ready

The morning started with Kristine getting ready alongside her family and sister. They left themselves plenty of time to relax and enjoy those precious pre-wedding hours, which is always a great call—having that cushion of time can make all the difference in setting a calm, joyful tone for the day (I highly recommend this for all my brides, by the way!).

Kristine’s bridal look was timeless yet modern. She wore a sleek, form-fitting dress with a V neckline and stunning pearl strap details. Her understated train was perfect for a summer wedding. And her bouquet? It was a lovely mix of blush, peach, and dusty pink, paired with white daisies, soft greenery, and a hint of pale yellow blooms. This bouquet was so effortlessly romantic—I couldn’t get enough of photographing it!

Once Kristine was ready, we carved out some time for bridal portraits at the nearby beach. With the warm golden sunset in the background, the photos turned out magical.

Pro Tip: For brides getting married near the coast: those beach photos at sunset really do live up to the hype!

The First Look

Before their wedding at Agape in 1928 in San Clemente, Kristine and Ulysses decided to do a first look. Which was honestly one of the most emotional moments of the day. I’m seeing more and more couples choose to do private first looks and exchange vows with just each other. (It’s a trend I’m absolutely here for!) It’s such a beautiful way to share a personal moment before the ceremony, and it often brings out raw, emotional reactions that make for the most unforgettable photos.

When Ulysses saw Kristine for the first time, the emotion hit him, and he couldn’t help but shed a few tears. It’s always so sweet to capture these authentic moments because they’re what wedding photography is all about!

Pro Tip: Thinking about a first look? It’s a perfect way to share a private, heartfelt moment and helps calm any pre-ceremony jitters! Plus, it gives you the chance to capture some photos before the day’s events kick off giving you more time with your guests.

Ceremony at Agape 1928

Their ceremony took place outdoors at Agape 1928, which has this beautiful Spanish-style aesthetic with white stucco walls, dark wooden beams, and the perfect blend of classic and modern California charm. The wooden cross-back chairs were a gorgeous touch, complementing Agape’s rustic vibe and bringing a sense of warmth to the ceremony space. String lights above added that extra layer of romance.

As an Orange County wedding photographer, I always get excited about shooting ceremonies here because Agape 1928 offers such a rich backdrop. The natural light and texture of the venue just make every photo pop, which was especially true during Kristine and Ulysses’ vows.

Golden Hour Portraits

Once the reception for their wedding at Agape 1928 in San Clemente began, we stole away for a few golden hour portraits (I always recommend golden hour photos if possible, there’s just something so magical about that warm, end-of-day light). Kristine and Ulysses looked incredible against the backdrop of the beach, and the glow of the setting sun added an extra layer of romance to the shots. As they walked together, laughing and savoring these moments alone, I could feel the love radiating from them. It was such a beautiful evening, and I felt honored knowing these would be photos they’d treasure forever.

Reception Details

Back at their wedding at Agape 1928, the reception setup was absolutely dreamy to photograph. One of my favorite parts of shooting receptions here is how the large arched windows flood the space with natural light. The airy, open feel made every detail of Kristine and Ulysses’ decor stand out. The long rectangular tables were arranged in rows with simple white linens and tableware, and in between sat their sweetheart table.

The lush floral centerpieces were a photographer’s dream—matching Kristine’s bouquet perfectly with those blush and dusty pink tones. The floral arrangements added just the right touch of elegance without overpowering the minimalist decor.

Party on the Dance Floor

Now, let me tell you—the dance floor was packed. There was an energy that just didn’t quit, and everyone danced until the very end! As an Orange County wedding photographer, I love capturing these candid, joy-filled moments on the dance floor, and this crew did NOT disappoint.

Watching Kristine and Ulysses laugh and dance surrounded by loved ones was the perfect end to a perfect day.
